BSF Constable GD Sports Quota Recruitment 2025-26

The Border Security Force (BSF) is hiring talented sportspersons from across India for 549 Constable (General Duty) jobs through the BSF Sports Quota 2025. This BSF recruitment is open to both men and women who have done well in sports. These are entry-level government jobs in BSF that start as temporary but can become permanent. If selected, you can be posted anywhere in India or even abroad to protect the borders.

Who Can Apply? (Basic Requirements)

Eligibility is evaluated based on the closing date of applications, with sports achievements considered from January 15, 2024, to January 15, 2026.

Education (Main Points)

• Matriculation (10th class) or equivalent from a recognized board.
• Candidates must possess certificates proving sports achievements, such as medals or participation in eligible international/national events. Only the highest achievement in the last two years will be considered for merit, with marks awarded based on the level of competition (e.g., 100 for Olympic Gold, down to 12 for Junior National Bronze).

Age Limit

• Basic age: 18 to 23 years as on August 1, 2025.
• Relaxations apply as follows:
• SC/ST candidates: Up to 5 years (upper age 28 years).
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: Up to 3 years (upper age 26 years); OBC certificate must be issued within one year before the application closing date.
• Departmental candidates (BSF personnel with at least 3 years continuous service): Up to 5 years, plus additional 5 years for SC/ST or 3 years for OBC, allowing competition with open candidates.
• Certificates for age relaxation must be submitted in prescribed formats; claims without proper documentation will be treated as Unreserved (UR).
• Date of birth as per Matriculation certificate only; no changes allowed post-submission.

Physical standards include height (170 cm for males, 157 cm for females) and chest (80 cm unexpanded with 5 cm expansion for males), with relaxations for certain categories like Scheduled Tribes, North Eastern States residents, Garhwalis, etc. Candidates seeking physical relaxations must submit certificates.

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of online applications for eligibility and sports credentials.
2. Verification of documents and identity.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) to check height, chest (males), and other measurements.
4. Preparation of merit list based on sports achievement marks (highest medal/participation in qualifying events).
5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to ensure fitness.
6. Final merit list and appointment based on performance and vacancies.
