RCF Kapurthala or Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala is offering training opportunities for 550 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This program (Notice No. A-1/2025 dated December 9, 2025) is for various technical trades in the Technical Training Centre. It’s a great way for young people with ITI qualifications to gain hands-on skills in railway coach manufacturing. Note that this is only training and does not guarantee a job in RCF or Indian Railways.

Stipend and Benefits of RCF Kapurthala

During training, apprentices receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act (not specified in notification, but usually around ₹7,000-₹9,000 depending on trade and year). No other allowances or job benefits.

Who Can Apply

Education

  • Passed 10th class (or equivalent under 10+2 system) with at least 50% marks overall.
  • ITI certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT-recognized institute.
  • For percentage calculation: Use all subjects in 10th; provisional/final ITI certificate marks.
  • If CGPA, convert using multiplier (e.g., CGPA 7.4 x 9.5 = 70.3%).

Age Limit (as on January 7, 2026)

  • 15 to 24 years.
  • Relaxations:
    • SC/ST: 5 years (up to 29 years).
    • OBC: 3 years (up to 27 years).
    • PWD: 10 years.
    • Ex-SM: Service period + 3 years (min 6 months service), up to 10 additional years.

Other

  • For reservations: Submit SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD/Ex-SM certificates at document verification.
  • PWD: Disability ≥40%, certificate from Medical Board.

Selection Process About RCF Kapurthala Post

  1. Merit list based on average of 10th marks (min 50%) + ITI marks in trade.
  2. If ties: Older candidate preferred; if DOB same, earlier 10th passer.
  3. Trade-wise, community-wise final list equal to slots.
  4. Document verification and medical fitness check (by Govt. doctor, Asst. Surgeon level or above).

No written exam or interview.
