Eligibility Conditions

Educational Qualification

• You must have a full-time B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) degree (4-year course) from a recognized university or institute.
• Mechanical or Electrical / Electrical & Electronics are allowed for this post.
• Minimum requirement: Pass class (no specific percentage cutoff).
• If your university uses CGPA or grades instead of percentage, you must provide an official conversion certificate.

Work Experience (as on 1 December 2025)

• Trainee Engineer-I: 1 year of Practice in the field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Project Engineer-I: At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification industrial experience (mandatory). Note: Academic projects, internships, teaching, or research work done during studies do not count as experience.

Age Limit (as on 1 December 2025)

• Trainee Engineer-I: Maximum 28 years
• Project Engineer-I: Maximum 32 years

Age Relaxation (wherever applicable):

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
• ST: +5 years
• Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): +10 years (plus additional relaxation as per category)

BEL Selection Process 2026

Stage 1: Written Test (Mandatory for both Trainee Engineer-I and Project Engineer-I)

Total Marks: 100
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
– General / EWS / OBC: 35%
– SC / ST / PwBD: 30%

Stage 2: Interview (Only for Project Engineer-I)

Candidates who pass the written test will called for interview
Shortlisting Ratio: 1:5 (based on written test merit).
In case of tie: Higher marks in engineering degree will decide the rank.

Venue: All tests and interviews will take place at BEL Navi Mumbai unit.

Salary and benefits

• Trainee Engineer-I: ₹30,000 → ₹35,000 → ₹40,000 (over 3 years)
• Project Engineer-I: ₹40,000 → ₹45,000 → ₹50,000 → ₹55,000 (over 4 years)
• Extra: ₹12,000/year allowance + ₹1 Lakh retention bonus (Project only, after 4 years)
