Bombay High Court has announced recruitment for 2,381 vacancies in various Group C and D posts including Clerk, Peon/Hamal, Driver, and Stenographer (Lower & Higher Grade). Eligibility Criteria

  • Clerk: You need a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. Candidates with a Law degree (LLB) will get preference.
  • Driver: Passed 10th standard + valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license + at least 3 years of actual driving experience.
  • Peon/Hamal: Must be able to read and write Marathi properly. (No higher education required)
  • Senior Stenographer (Higher Grade): Bachelor’s degree is normally required
  • Junior Stenographer (Lower Grade): Bachelor’s degree + good speed in shorthand and typing.

Selection Process Details

The recruitment process is different for each post. Candidates will be assessed through the following stages based on the position applied for:

Clerk

  • Screening Examination (90 Marks): Objective-type questions covering Marathi, English, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematics, and Computer basics.
  • English Typing Test (20 Marks): Typing of 400 words within 10 minutes.
  • Interview / Viva-Voce (40 Marks).

Stenographer

  • Shorthand Test (40 Marks): Dictation followed by transcription.
  • Typing Test (40 Marks).
  • Interview / Viva-Voce (20 Marks).

Peon / Hamal

  • Written Examination (30 Marks).
  • Physical Ability & Special Skill Test (10 Marks).
  • Interview / Viva-Voce (10 Marks).

Driver

  • Written Examination (20 Marks).
  • Assessment of Driving Experience (10 Marks).
  • Vehicle Handling / Driving Skill Test (10 Marks).
