Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Required Degree: Full-time regular B.E./B.Tech in the relevant engineering branch (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical).
- Minimum Marks:
- General/EWS/OBC (NCL) candidates: 65% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
- SC/ST/PwBD candidates: 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
- Eligible Disciplines:
- Mechanical: Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering.
- Electrical: Power Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Chemical: Chemical Engineering / Applied Chemistry (M.Tech level).
- GATE Requirement: Must have a valid GATE 2025 score in the corresponding paper code (ME for Mechanical, EE for Electrical, CH for Chemical).
- Note: Students in the final year of engineering are eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree with the required marks before the interview stage.
Work Experience
- Freshers Welcome: No previous work experience is needed. This recruitment targets fresh graduates who have appeared for GATE 2025.

Mode of Selection for NALCO Recruitment 2026
NALCO follows a clear and fair selection method that mainly depends on your GATE 2025 performance.
Step 1: Shortlisting Based on GATE 2025 Score:
- Candidates are shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise using their valid GATE 2025 marks. For every vacancy, about 10 candidates will be selected for the next stage (1:10 ratio).
Step 2: Personal Interview:
- Shortlisted candidates will attend a personal interview. The panel will check your technical knowledge, skills, and overall fit for the role.
Step 3: Final Selection:
The merit list is prepared using a combined score:
- GATE 2025 marks: 90% weightage
- Personal Interview performance: 10% weightage
Only candidates who clear all stages and meet the criteria will be selected.
