OSSSC CRE 2026-II: 1518 Vacancies for Forester, Forest Guard, and Excise Constable in Odisha – Fill Online Form
The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has announced the Combined Recruitment Examination–2026 (II) to appoint 1,518 Group ‘C’ personnel for key field roles such as Forester, Forest Guard, and Excise Constable. These appointments will be made under the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department and the Excise Department of the Government of Odisha.

Eligibility Requirments
Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill the required qualifications as on 07 February 2026. Applicants should be Indian citizens, of good character, and must be able to read, write, and speak Odia (proof required as per rules).
Post-wise Qualification:
- Forester: +2 Science from a recognized board with basic computer knowledge
- Forest Guard: Passed HSC / 10th Class from a recognized board
- Excise Constable: Passed +2 or equivalent from a recognized board or council
Age Limit
Age limits as on 01.01.2025
- Forester & Forest Guard: 18 – 32 years.
- Excise Constable: 21 – 32 years.
Age Relaxations:
- 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women.
- 10 years for PwD (cumulative up to 15 years for SC/ST/SEBC PwD).
- Full service period for Ex-Servicemen (no reservation if already benefited).
Salary and Benefits
- Forester: Rs. 25,500 – 81,100 (Pay Matrix Level-7, Cell-1).
- Forest Guard: Rs. 19,900 – 63,200 (Pay Matrix Level-4, Cell-01).
- Excise Constable: Rs. 19,900 – 63,200 (Pay Matrix Level-4, Cell-01).

Mode of Selection
Stage-I: Written Examination
- Type: Objective (MCQ)
- Marks: 100
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Mode: OMR / Computer-Based
- Excise Constable: NCC certificate holders will get bonus marks
- Candidates equal to 3 times the vacancies will be shortlisted for Stage-II
Stage-II: Physical Test
- Includes Physical Standard Measurement (PSM) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Standards depend on post, gender, and category
- PET includes walking/running/long jump as applicable
- This stage is qualifying in nature
Document Verification
- Shortlisting: 1.25 times the vacancies
- Original documents must be produced
- Failure to verify documents will lead to rejection
Counselling & Final Selection
Tie-breaking: fewer wrong answers, then older age post-verification. Ties resolved by fewer wrong answers, age, etc.
Post and district/circle/division will be allotted based on merit and choice
Final merit lists will be prepared after verification
